Arisaema speciosum

This is a spectacular cobra lily from the Himalayas, Arisaema speciosum with its attractive tri-lobed leaves and large open spathe grows from a tuber and prefers a woodland setting.

The spathe sits below the foliage, however it is of a size that makes its presence quite apparent, purple and white striped with a nice tip.

Arisaema speciosum Care

If growing in containers try a single plant for a dramatic display, or plant in groups for an almost tropical look

Although the flowers are not long lasting the foliage is itself attractive.

Propagation is by division of bulb offsets every 3 - 4 years, or from seed. Seeds will benefit from stratification before planting out. Arisaema speciosum is a hardy species in the UK
