Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' is another maple grown in the UK for the beutiful purple foliage. Used as a feature tree Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' is one of the best red leafed maples the foliage is a very deep purple - crimson turning a brilliant red in Autumn before fading.

This outstanding maple will reach 5m in ideal conditions and prefers a sunny position in a well drained soil. Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' makes a nice ornamental tree for gardens and parks. Use as a feature tree in an open lawn or as a shade tree at the rear of a large border. This is a fully hardy tree once established, easy to establish but best staked when first planted to prevent wind damage.
