Paphiopedilum tranlienianum

Another fascinating species from Asia (North Vietnam and surrounding areas) is Paphiopedilum tranlienianum. ( see picture right ) This an orchid that prefers cool winters and warm summers growing naturally in areas of protected shade. Coppery bronze pouch, white dorsal and twisted sepals make this Paph a work of art.

The twisted petals and white hooded sepal make this just another of the many fascinating paphs.
