Draceana Draco

Draceana draco or 'Dragon Tree'

This interesting evergreen tree has lance like leaves atop a single trunk the Dragon Tree makes a great specimen plant for a conservatory or indoor area where it can be protected from the cold and remember that these plants appreciate a dry winter, good drainage is essential.

The Dragon Tree plant. (Dracaena Draco) is originally from the Canary Islands and its bold shape and strong architectural make it popular with landscape designers.

This is a long living but relatively slow growing tree so larger specimens will be costly. Green berries in summer turn red as they ripen

Dracaena marginata is the 'Red Edged Dragon Tree'.

Care

Grown as indoor plants they require very little water, test the soil before you water and then soak well. It may take 3 - 4 weeks between waterings for them to dry out. Generally these plant require no pruning.
