Surrey does have some well known gardens for a liyyler inspitation. The two big RHS gardens are a must. However for local gardeners looking for a little inspiration some of the other gardens are worth seeking out.
Winkworth Arboretum is run by the National Trust, over 1000 different trees and shrubs. Losely Park Walled Garden, designed by Gertude Jekyll, over 2.5 acres of garden 'rooms'. Ypu can focus on different ideas, a Herb Garden, Rose Garden or the White Garden which is magnificent in spring to summer.
You could look at the House of Fraser, formerly Harvey's Store Roofgarden, find it at 105 High St Guildford. Its open when the store is open. Wonderful roof garden and great views as well.
Munstead Wood was owned by Gertude Jekyll, you might find this one an inspiration. However you do need to make an appointment.
Vann at Godalming is another 'roomed garde'. The water garden is anothe rof Gertrude Jekylls designs.
Titsey Place is only open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from June to September. Chech the website for opening times.
