Hydrangea macrophylla 'Parzival'
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Parzival' is a compact growing purple-blue mophead, which will be pink on alkaline soil. (see picture right). This is regarded as a heritage variety, bred in Germany nearly 100 years ago.
The individual petals are serrated and this is a strong growing plant well suited to the UK garden
A prolific flowering plant however the flowers are not exceptional large. The flower color will vary depending on the soil Ph, in acidic soils it tends towards a deep blue, in neutral soils it tends towards red.
Will reach around 1m in height and is an excellent shade plant. Suited to growing in containers due to its size.
