Zelkova

Zelkova are deciduous trees related to elms. Zelkova trees are sometimes used in bonsai for example Zelkova parvifolia or 'Japanese Elms'. Zelkova

Excellent as a medium to large shade tree which will reach around 10 -15m in height. A good upright branch structure and a moderate growth rate.

Widely used as a street tree, also suited to parks and larger private gardens. Grows well in full sun and will not be that fussy about soil type as long as drainage is good.

Deciduous with serrated leaves, the flowers are insignificant. Foliage turns to a good orange to red in autumn.
