The Venus Flytrap has fascinated collectors and children for many years. A carnivorous plant the Venus Fly Trap or ' Dionaea muscipula' catches its prey by the use of a mechanical 'trap' that is triggered when an insect makes contact with the hairs inside the jaws of the trap. The jaws close and the intect is trapped.
