Growing Chillies

Chillies can easily be grown from seed. In cooler climates it is best to strat seeds of indoors, in a hothouse or coldframe. Chilli seeds may be germinated by placing them between dampened kitchen paper in a zip lock bag or freezer bag. If the bag in placed in a warm position seeds will usually begin to sprout or germinate in 3-5 days. From here they can be planted into seedling trays or pots. Avoid planting outside until risk of frost is over.
Chilli seeds can be planted directly into tthe soil or pot if required, however some warmth is required if seeds are to germinate at a successfull rate.
